To New Beginnings

Beginnings are hard. You find a passion and pursue it, but there are no guarantees. I've never created a website, hosted a podcast, or recorded/mixed audio before. All signs point to low quality and probably failure, but I am still determined to try and get better as I go along.

Hi, I'm Eros. I'm a 40 something in corporate America. I have a family, friends, and my own story to tell. Who knows, maybe one day I will have someone interview me. So why the anonymity on my part? Don't people do this to get rich and famous and build a brand? I will state simply and flatly that just isn't my goal. If this podcast ever paid for itself I would be tickled pink, and anything beyond that would just be gravy. Who knows, maybe if this ever paid more than my corporate job maybe I would come out of the shadows - but here I am getting very ahead of myself. :) I am doing this because I believe in the power of stories. They give us the ability to learn and relate. They can inspire us, bring us catharsis and even help us heal. Sexuality fascinates me, and those are the stories that are rarely told. I look forward to being the vehicle to bring those stories to light from my own anonymity.

I don't think that my corporate job would have an issue with this per se. But anyone higher up in an organization knows that it can be Game of Thrones at times, and I have made enemies. But I've made enemies for all the right reasons. I pride myself on being a champion for others within my organization, always looking to accelerate those who have been overlooked or mistreated. And when you call others out for their bad behavior, and interject yourself between them and those they would like to marginalize that can put a target squarely on your back. Some have referred to me as the A-hole police, and I take pride in that moniker. I have people reach out to me from all over the country for help navigating issues they are having and I take pride in that. So please, help me keep my anonymity and don't give ammunition to the A-holes. :)

On this topic I'd like to post one of my favorite poems from Charles Mackay.

You Have No Enemies

You have no enemies, you say?

Alas! my friend, the boast is poor;

He who has mingled in the fray of duty,

 that the brave endure, Must have made foes!

If you have none, small is the work that you have done.

You’ve hit no traitor on the hip,

You’ve dashed no cup from perjured lip,

You’ve never turned the wrong to right,

You’ve been a coward in the fight.
